Genus Clinophaestus Storozhenko View in CoL , gen. nov.
Type species: Clinophaestus robustus Storozhenko , sp. nov., here designated.
Description. Body robust, moderate in size ( Figs. 35, 36 View FIGURES 35 – 39 ). Head not exserted above the pronotum in lateral view ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Antennae 11-segmented, 2.5–2.8 times longer than fore femora; two apical segments narrow; outer side of 5th–9th segments apically triangularly pointed ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Antennal bases situated below the lower margin of eyes ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Eyes more or less globular, slightly elevated above the vertex in lateral view ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Fastigium of vertex in dorsal view triangular; median fastigial carinula obsolete, lateral carinulae well defined ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Fastigium of vertex and frontal ridge in lateral view forming distinct notch ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Width of frontal ridge near the base of antennae 1.7–2.0 times less than width of 1st antennal segment. Apical segments of maxillary palps slightly widened. Pronotum in dorsal view with broadly rounded anterior margin ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ); posterior process of pronotum almost reaching the apex of abdomen ( Figs. 25 View FIGURES 22 – 34 , 38 View FIGURES 35 – 39 ). Disc of pronotum densely granulated; posterior process broadly triangular with bifurcate apex ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Median carina of pronotum in lateral view low, almost straight ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ); lateral carinae in prozona distinct, smooth; prozona 1.3–1.5 times as long as wide; posterior angles of lateral lobes of pronotum turned downward, obliquely truncate at apex ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Hind margin of the lateral lobes of pronotum with the lower sinus only, the tegminal (upper) sinus absent ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Tegmina and hind wings absent. Fore femora 2.9–3.1 times, mid femora 2.5–2.7 times as long as wide. Hind femora oviform, stout, 1.9–2.1 times as long as wide ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Male subgenital plate short, with broadly rounded apex ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Female subgenital plate 1.1–1.2 times as long as wide, with triangularly pointed posterior margin ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 22 – 34 ). Valves of ovipositor broad.
Composition. Type species only.
Etymology. From Latin ‘ clino ’—divergence, and the generic name Phaestus .
