Genus Tripetaloceroides Storozhenko View in CoL , gen. nov.
Type species: Tripetalocera tonkinensis Günther, 1938 , here designated.
Description. Body moderate in size, distinctly granulated and punctured ( Figs. 20, 21 View FIGURES 18 – 21 ). Head not exserted above the pronotum in lateral view. Antennae 2.5–2.8 times longer than fore femora; antennal bases situated on the level of lower margin of eyes. Eyes globular, not elevated above the vertex. Fastigium of vertex in dorsal view 3.3–4.1 times wider than one of the eyes, depressed on either side of median carinula, lateral carinulae in apical part of fastigium absent ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 17 ). Frontal ridge far produced beyond anterior margin of eyes. Width of frontal ridge near the base of antennae 1.4–1.5 times less than width of 1st antennal segment. Apical segments of maxillary palps slightly widened. Pronotum in dorsal view with weakly triangular anterior margin; posterior process of pronotum broad, trapezoidal, reaching the apex of abdomen ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 18 – 21 ). Disc of pronotum near the middle with deep hallow ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 18 – 21 ). Lateral carinae in prozona distinct, tuberculate; prozona 1.1–1.2 times as wide as long. Hind margin of the lateral lobes with the lower sinus only, the tegminal (upper) sinus absent. Tegmina and hind wings absent. Fore and mid femora stout, 2.4–2.5 times as long as wide. Hind femora 2.5–2.6 times as long as wide. Male subgenital plate short, triangular in lateral view ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 10 – 17 ), in ventral view with broadly rounded apex ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 10 – 17 ). Female subgenital plate 1.7 times as long as wide, with straight posterior margin ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 10 – 17 ). Upper valve of ovipositor broad, 2.7 times longer than its maximum width ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 10 – 17 ). Colour of body dark brown or ferruginous.
Composition. Genus includes the type species only. Etymology. From generic name Tripetalocera .
