Achiridae .

Fringed Sole, White Spotted Sole; Suela Manchada, Lenguado Redondo Manchado, Suela Pintada ( Fig. 5A View FIG ).

New record for the Coto River basin; previous records of the species in Costa Rican freshwaters were restricted to the Barranca River basin. Basis of the record: A single specimen was captured in the Quebrada Cocal Amarillo, 5 km N of Pavones, on the Puerto Pilón-Pavones road, Puntarenas (8.43643, -83.0966), at 26 m. a.s.l., on March 30, 2021, by Arturo Angulo, Jorge San Gil, Alejandro Oviedo and Juan Ignacio Abarca.
