Distribution: Global: Middle America; from southern Nicaragua to western Panama, Atlantic and Pacific drainages; Costa Rica: SJ, SC, Sa, To, Pa (Atlantic), Ni, Te, Be, Ba, Ta, Pi, Tr and Co (Pacific), 0–1000 m.a.s.l., Pri, Pot.

Occurrence and conservation status: Nat, LC.
