Diagnosis. This species has flat hemelytra with wide costal and subcostal areas, and no boundary vein delimiting discoidal and sutural areas. The pronotum is relatively long and narrow.
Description. Male: Body long and narrow, length 2.87; width 0.88. COLORATION: Hemelytra, legs, cephalic spines, bucculae, and posterior pronotal process yellowish; pronotum, head, antennae, hind tarsi, and body beneath brownish. SURFACE AND VESTITURE: Antennae densely covered with short hairs. STRUCTURE: Head: long, armed with two short frontal spines; bucculae two areolae wide, closed in front; antennae short and stout, antennal segment measurements: I, 0.20; II, 0.17; III, 0.52; IV, 0.26; rostral sulcus narrow and sinuate, laminae narrow, closed behind; rostrum not quite reaching middle of mesosternum. Thorax: Pronotum narrow and long, slightly gibbose, unicarinate; median carina almost indistinct; calli large; collar wide, biseriate, not raised on top; paranota ridge-like. Hemelytra long and narrow, slightly wider than pronotum; costal area straight, biseriate, areolae large; subcostal area wider than costal area, triseriate, areolae small, slightly sloping downwards; discoidal and sutural areas not differentiated, four areolae wide near apex of posterior pronotal process, areolea small, and six areolae wide at widest part, areolae larger.
Female: Body length 2.92, body width 0.88. COLORATION: As in males. SURFACE: As in males. STRUCTURE: As in males.
Etymology. The name “ diversus ” given to this species refers to the fact that despite similarities shared with other species, it is different (diversus in Latin).
Material examined. Holotype: 1F, M'Drak E of BanMe Thuot, 4–600 m, 8–19.XII.1960, C.M. Yoshimoto coll. ( BPBM). Paratype: 1F, same data as holotype ( BPBM).
Comments. This species is similar to A. vicinale Drake and A. sedale Drake , but differs by the wider costal area. It is also similar to A. danielssoni Péricart by the general habitus, the long pronotum, the absence of distinct boundary between discoidal and sutural areas, but differs by the larger subcostal area (triseriate instead of biseriate). It also differs from A. biseriata by the narrower costal area, the smaller areolae, the hemelytra almost flat (the subcostal area is bend downwards in A. biseriata and forms an angle with the costal and discoidal areas), and the shorter and clearer pronotum.
