Sphingonotus obscuratus lameerei Finot, 1902

Diagnosis: Very similar to S. obs. obscuratus but differs from it by the following characters; foveolae of vertex distinct, concave; pronotum almost smooth, median carina distinct in metazona; Metazona slightly more than 1.5 times longer than prozona; apical part of tegmina with several brownish spots; wing fascia strongly narrowed anteriorly; apex of wing with small diffuse spots; hind tibia bluish.

Habitats: This species appears together with S. o. obscuratus on loose soil around grasses. Specimens were observed and collected during night at light as well. Material examined: Ghat region : Al Barkat, 1♂, 2 ♀, at light; 1 ♂, on ground around grass, 3.iv.1995; Ghat , 3 # male, at light, 8.vii.1995. Localities : Fezzan : Ghat Distribution : Algeria, Sahara , Morocco, Libya. Remarks : This subspecies is recorded for the first time from Fezzan .
