Habitus Fig. 11. Length. 0.80–0.81 mm. Colour: yellowy brown, antennae and legs paler yellow. Antennae very short, antennomeres 3–11 Fig. 48 View FIGURES 41 – 55 . Pronotum: 0.21 mm long, 0.28 mm wide, puncturation very faint, Figs 59 View FIGURES 56 – 61 , 69 View FIGURES 62 – 76 . Elytra: 0.54 mm long, 0.45 mm wide, puncturation stronger than on pronotum.

Etymology. This epithet is taken from the Latin adjective faber, meaning ingenious, and refers to the joined nature of the dumb-bell shaped antennomere 11.
Remarks. The absence of clear pronotal puncturation is similar to D. fusum , but D. fabrum may be separated from that and all other Dacrysoma species examined to date except D. denticulatum by the absence of a clearly defined dumb-bell shape to antennomere 11 which shows only a slight median narrowing. See D. longulum for the possibility that females of that species may be confused with females of D. fabrum
Type data. Holotype ♂: Ranomafana N.P., sifting, S.21˚14’51’’ E. 47˚24’13’’, 1079 m, 16–18.xi.2010, P. Banar (BMNH). Paratypes: 22 exs, same data as holotype; 11 exs, Ranomafana N.P., RNF/12/2011, sifting litter, Winkler app. extr., S.21˚ 14’ 51.3’’ E. 47˚ 24’ 09.1’’, 1118 m, 15.iv.2011, P. Banar & Raveloson (BMNH).
