Description. Adult ( Fig. 30): Wingspan 14.5 mm.

Material examined. 1 ♂, INDIA: Pusa , Rangi Coll., C [ollection] no. 2496, 11.iv.1930, Presented by R. L. E. Ford. BM 1949-487, Boring top-shoots of Anthocaphalus (sic) cadamba, BMNH Microlep. slide no. 32351, Zhiwei Zhang ( BMNH, London) .

Biology. The larvae bored top-shoots of Anthocephalus cadamba (Roxb.) Miq. (Rubiaceae) .

Distribution. India.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. chionoscia Meyrick superficially, but can be distinguished by the valva with numerous commalike processes on ventral half ( Fig. 52); in S. chionoscia Meyrick , the valva possesses numerous commalike processes throughout ventral surface ( Fig. 43). This species also resembles S. grandannulata sp. nov. in the male genitalia, but can be separated from it by the tubular anellus that is shorter than the valva; in the latter species, the anellus is cone-shaped and longer than the valva ( Fig. 49).
