Diagnosis. SIF = 7BS-B-3-3111.1000; fPp = B/B/NBB; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; fSc: PL> AM> AL; Ip = 886–1066; fD = 2H-(8–11)-(8–11)-(7–11)-(5–9)-…; DS = 36–51; VS = 38–58; NDV = 74–107. Standard measurements of specimens from Turkey are given in Table 17.

Type material (not examined). This species was described from Austria (Steiermark, Weinzödl); syntypes are deposited in ZSM .

Comparative material examined. 20 larvae (ZISP) ex Cricetulus migratorius , Chionomys gud , and Apodemus flavicollis , RUSSIA: Dagestan, 5 km SE from Ikhrek, 41° 39' 36" N, 47° 15' 20" E, 1700 m a.s.l., 16–18 June 1988, coll. A.B. Shatrov; 12 larvae (ZISP) ex Ch. gud , ibidem, near Mazada (42° 11' 51" N, 46° 23' 30" E), 2000 m a.s.l., 11 and 12 July 1988, coll. A.B. Shatrov; 2 larvae (ZMMU) ex A. agrarius, Stavropolskiy Krai, Galyugayevskaya (43° 41' 49" N, 44° 56' 04" E), 4 April 1962, coll. N.I. Kudryashova; 34 larvae (ZISP) ex Ch. nivalis, Kabardino-Balkaria, Adylsu gorge, 6.6 km SE from Elbrus town, E from Dzhan-Tugan alpinist camp, 43° 13' 00" N, 42° 42' 25" E, 2400 m a.s.l., 27 June 1996, coll. Hosts. Myodes glareolus (Schreber) , Arvicola amphibius (L.), Microtus arvalis (Pallas) , M. majori Thomas , M. subterraneus (de Selys-Longchamps) , Ch. roberti (Thomas) , Apodemus sylvaticus (L.), A. flavicollis (Melchior) , Micromys minutus (Pallas) , Talpa europaea L., Sorex araneus L., Spalax leucodon Nordmann , and Parus major L. ( Kudryashova 1998) plus Cricetulus migratorius (Pallas) , Chionomys gud (Satunin) , and Ch. nivalis (Martins) .

Distribution. Austria, Bulgaria, Poland ( Literák et al. 2001), Turkey, Russia (Stavropolskiy Krai, Karachay- Cherkessia, Dagestan). Here this species is for the first time recorded in Kabardino-Balkaria. Previous records in Turkey: pass between Gerede and Kizilcahamam, Meryemana, Yalnizçam Mts ( Kepka 1966).
