Type species. Stenopoda capensis Stål 1866 .

Diagnosis. Body medium-sized. Head with two obvious prominent processes between antennifers; anteocular portion longer than postocular; first rostral segment subequal to second in length; pronotum deflected from a little beyond base, longitudinally carinate and sulcate; anterior spines of prosternum porrect; anterior femora not incrassated, without dentation or spine; abdomen beneath with median longitudinal ridge.

Distribution. Ethiopian (14 species), and Oriental (2 species) regions.
