Pomacentrus moluccensis Bleeker 1853 —Lemon damselfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed on 3–4 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in Kavieng District; others at St. KVG 17 on the Bismarck Sea side of northern Kavieng District by Serge Andréfouët on 18 Aug. 2014 , and at St. KVG29 (southeast of New Hanover) by Serge Andréfouët on 24 Aug. 2014 .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Yap ( Caroline Islands) and Vanuatu, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and Lord Howe Island. Found in coastal, lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 1–14 m depth. Marine.
