Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Kavieng, New Ireland by Kailola (1975: 112); reported from New Hanover by Kailola (1987b: 261). KFRS material.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Palau, Yap ( Micronesia) and Solomon Islands, north to Philippines. Solitary, nocturnal, found in mangrove habitats including estuaries, and in coastal reefs, 0–30 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
