Status at New Ireland. First recorded from St. Mathias by Duncker & Mohr (1929: 80), based on ZMH 11949. NTUM 11402 (1 specimen, 84.5 mm SL, St. KR 14, northwest of Manne Island, Kavieng District, 2°41.240’S 150°41.234’E, 3–12 m depth, 4 June 2014)

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2, 4.—General distribution: Red Sea, East Africa and Mascarenes east to Gulf of California and Galapagos Archipelago. Benthic, reef-associated, lives in holothurians, 0–30 m depth. Marine.
