4 ♂♂, 2 ♀♀: MAK-1A; 3 ♂♂, 11 ♀♀: MAK-1B; 12 ♂♂, 26 ♀♀: MAK-1C; 2 ♂♂: MAK-20; 2 ♂♂: MAK-22.

Distribution.

Madagascar, western and southern parts of the island ( Guignot 1959-1961; Bertrand and Legros 1971; Biström 1987; Rocchi 1991).

Habitat in study area

(Fig. 2A View Figure 2 ). This species was found only at peripheral sites located on the large sandy banks of the Mangoky River close to Beroroha, in small to large shallow isolated puddles, with sand or sand-clay bottom and clear water, without vegetation or with sparse vegetation, with or without presence of filamentous green algae.
