Material examined. [BELGIAN] CONGO, [PRESENT DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO], Albertville, [Lake] Tangan[y]ika, 13. viii.1953, 1 male, leg.: Verbeke J., KEA 501o (BMNH). SUDAN, Adok, 26. xi.1952, 2 males, leg.: Verbeke J. (BMNH), pinned material, only genitalia mounted on slides.
Diagnosis. The male of X. ugandae can be separated from other species of the genus by the following characteristics: superior volsella short and rounded underneath tergite IX, inferior volsella robust with many long curved setae and gonostylus extending between the median and distal regions.
Description. Male (n = 1–3, only hypopygium mounted on slides)
Color. Thorax with pronotal region dark brown. Abdomen brownish. Femur and tíbia brownish, apices of tarsomere 1–5 dark brown.
Hypopygium. ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 A–B) Anal tergite with 16–18 setae in one area. Anal point 97–153 Μm long and 81–122 Μm wide at the base. Phallapodeme 156–193 Μm long; transverse sternapodeme 166–196 Μm long. Superior volsella 56–91 Μm long, 28–59 Μm wide at the base and 28–34 Μm wide at the apex. Inferior volsella 75–91 (2) Μm long, 62–90 Μm wide at the base and 41–56 Μm wide at the apex. Gonocoxite 181–187 Μm long. Gonostylus 194– 231 Μm long. HR 0.81–0.94.
Female and immatures: unknown.
