Thomson, 1859 placed on the Official List of Family-Group Names in Zoology (ICZN 1961a); the original spelling Bolitocharides C. G. Thomson, 1859 and several subsequent spellings of this name placed on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Family-Group Names in Zoology (ICZN 1961a).
