A Neotropical species is described from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, and Central and South America ( Metcalf 1963a, Duffels & van der Laan 1985, Sanborn 2001 a, Sanborn 2006a).
