Trifurcula (Glaucolepis) saturejae View in CoL ; van Nieukerken 1996: 24 —‘Corsica’

Material. 05: 1♂, St. Crépin , Durance valley, 900 m, 24.vi.1959 – 30.vi.1959, H.G. Amsel ( SMNK); 11 : 1♂, Sigéan , 23.vi.1991, AL & ZL ; 34: 1♂, St. Pons , Montagne d'Artenac, 12.vii.1904, P. Remarks. First detailed records for France. Common in the ‘Midi’ on Calamintha nepeta and C. menthifolia (= C. sylvatica ), on which it usually makes stemmines, sometimes partly using leaves. The Corsican mines most likely belong to this species; the only species known to feed on Calamintha and very common also in nearby Italy. Buhr (1940: 209) and Skala (1938: 30) also reported mines from Corté on Mentha rotundifolia . It is possible that such mines also belong to T. saturejae , but we cannot exclude the possibility that it is another species.

Remarks. First detailed records. Probably a common but often overlooked species. Mines on various Thymus and Satureja , difficult to find. Larvae in winter and autumn; it is not clear if the species is univoltine with a long flying period or has multiple generations annually. See also following species.
