Stigmella vimineticola (Frey, 1856) View in CoL — New for France ( Fig. 11)
Material. 77: 1♀, PaleyTesnieres, 12–15.viii.1950, J. Bradley, gen. EvN3495 ( BMNH) .
Remarks. Until recently S. vimineticola was considered an alpine species, mainly on Salix eleagnos (Laštůvka & Laštůvka 1997) . However, recent finds in Norway ( Aarvik et al. 2001) contradict this, as does this first record of a female in the region of Paris. The female has a very characteristic, elongate ovipositor. The name vimineticola often has been misapplied in European literature to Stigmella obliquella , but this has not occurred in the French literature.
