Other distribution: China (Fujian), India (W. Bengal), Indonesia (Bali, Batoe Is., Java, Kalimantan, Sumatera), Malaysia (E. & W.), Philippines, New Britain, Solomon Is. Intercepted in Japan in timber from various countries in the region. The species also occurs in Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia (Maluku, Sulawesi), Laos and Vietnam (R. A. Beaver, unpublished records). Biology: Browne (1961a) suggests that this is mainly a ‘hill’ species occurring at altitudes above 600 m, but the records from Thailand suggest that it frequently occurs at lower altitudes. The species is polyphagous ( Browne 1961a). In Thailand it has been recorded from Acacia auriculiformis (Leguminosae) ( Hutacharern & Tubtim 1995) .
