Other distribution: Indonesia (Java, Sumatera), Malaysia (E. & W.). Intercepted in Japan in timber from the region. The species also occurs in Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia (Sulawesi), and the Philippines (R. A. Beaver, unpublished records). (3)

Biology: Polyphagous ( Kalshoven 1959, Browne 1961a). It attacks both small branches and larger logs. The form of the gallery system depends on the size of the breeding material, but branches in three dimensions, and has no distinct brood chambers ( Browne 1961a). A sex ratio of 1♂: 10.4 ♀ is recorded by Kalshoven (1959).
