Positive for cytochrome oxidase, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase in the API 20NE test. Trisodium citrate is utilized but D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetylglucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, and phenylacetic acid are not utilized.
