C o m m e n t s: HAMMOND (1970a), ZANETTI (1987) and ASSING (2004) questioned the validity of Mannerheimia doderoi View in CoL . No evidence of differences at the specific level between Mannerheimia brevipennis View in CoL from Northern Europe and Turkey and M. doderoi View in CoL from the Alps exists ( ASSING 2004). Nevertheless the formal synonymy between these two species has never been proposed.
