Type material: Holotype: ♀, Tlacotepec [18°40’N, 97°38’W], Puebla , Mexico, 24 July 1956, V. Roth & W.J. Gertsch leg. ( AMNH). Paratype ♀, Tehuacan [18°27’N, 97°24’W], Puebla , Mexico, 24 July 1956, V. Roth & W.J. Gertsch leg. ( AMNH).

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.

Diagnosis. Females of C. puebla sp. nov. are distinguished from those of the other species of the genus by the epigyne with median septum as wide as long, with lateral lobes curving anteriorly into the median septum (Fig. 85). Males are unknown.

Description. Female (holotype): Prosoma orange, pale brown at eye area and along lateral margins of cephalic region. Fovea brown. Eye borders black. Chelicerae brown. Legs and pedipalps pale brown. Leg metatarsi and tarsi reddish brown. Sternum pale orange with orange margins. Labium and endites brown, distally pale orange. Opisthosoma yellowish cream colored mottled with faint irregular brown marks. Total length 15.3. Prosoma: 5.0 long, 5.2 wide. Opisthosoma: 10.0 long, 7.4 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.37, 0.34, 0.26, 0.32; interdistances: 0.35, 0.20, 0.56, 0.53, 0.45, 0.35. Legs (2143): I: 20.2 (5.7, 2.5, 5.0, 5.3, 1.7); II: 21.7 (6.5, 2.8, 5.4, 5.3, 1.7); III: 15.6 (5.0, 2.3, 3.6, 3.4, 1.3); IV: 18.1 (5.8, 2.2, 4.2, 4.5, 1.4). Epigyne: epigynal field roughly trapezoid, as long as wide. Median septum slightly wider than long with sinuous posterior margin. Posterior margin of median septum not surpassing epigastric furrow (Fig. 85). Vulva: copulatory ducts wide, as long as spermathecae. Spermathecae oval, one slightly larger than the other. Basal part of fertilization ducts narrow, almost one-fourth copulatory duct width, with one coil, distal part anteriad (Fig. 86).

Male: Unknown.

Variation. Females (n = 2): total length 11.9−15.3; prosoma length 4.9−5.0; femur I length 5.7−5.8.

Distribution. Only known from the state of Puebla , Mexico (Map 4).
