Description of Enterobacter xiangfangensis KHN 16

Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, non-pigmented and diplococcirod-shaped. Colonies are circular and cream-colored after 3 days of incubation on R2A at 25°C. Positive for arginine dihydrolase, β -galactosidase, glucose fermentation, nitrates reduction and urease, but negative for cytochrome oxidase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase and indole production in API 20NE test. N -Acetyl-glucosamine, L-arabinose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, phenylacetic acid, potassium gluconate and trisodium citrate are utilized. Strain KHN16 (= NIBRBAC000497849) has been isolated from gut of Japanese crested ibis ( Nipponia nippon ), Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, Korea.
