Euseius stipulatus (Athias-Henriot, 1960) View in CoL
Amblyseius stipulatus Athias-Henriot, 1960a: 294 .
Amblyseius (Amblyseius) stipulatus .—Ueckermann & Loots, 1988: 110. Euseius stipulatus View in CoL .—Moraes et al., 2004: 84; Chant & McMurtry, 2005: 216; 2007: 123.
This species is mainly known from the south of the Western Palearctic region. It is a very common species reported from many plants, including crops such as peach, avocado orchards and vineyards. It is especially abundant in citrus orchards (Ragusa, 1977; Ferragut et al., 1983; Papaioannou-Souliotis et al., 1994; Ragusa, 2006; Kreiter et al., 2010; Sahraoui et al., 2012). Several studies have shown its ability to feed on pollen but also on pests such as T. urticae and P. citri (Ferragut et al., 1992; Santaballa et al., 1994; Abad-Moyano et al., 2009; Pina et al., 2012). Euseius stipulatus was already found in Morocco by McMurtry & Bounfour (1989) and Tixier et al. (2003). With 247 specimens collected, it was one of the most frequently encountered species.
