Ocellus closely approaching distal margin of pronotum, head orange or reddish-brown, with punctures ( Figures 1 View FIGURE 1 . e). Antennae yellow, without conspicuous setae, antennal segment 1 extending to apex of head ( Figures 1 View FIGURE 1 . e, f). Rostrum yellow, the apical two segments black, its apex extending to or passing hind coxae. Thoracic pleuron yellowish brown and punctured. Pronotum separated by a transverse line into two regions. Distal margin and proximal portion of pronotum reddish-brown, distal region yellow. Scutellum extends to end of abdomen and usually with yellow, orange or redish brown triangular mark; connexivum yellow, connexival tubercles absent ( Figures 1 View FIGURE 1 . a, b, c, d). Abdominal dorsum black, abdominal venter, spiracles and legs yellow. Metathoracic scent gland ostiole associated with peritreme as other subgenera Ventocoris ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 . j).

Male genitalia: Ventral view of pygophore dark brown, medial region of ventral rim of pygophore little concave ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 . g, h). Apex of paramere slender and curved up, lateral edge of paramere with very small tubercle ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 . i).

Female genitalia: Female genitalia as illustrated in Figures 1 View FIGURE 1 . k, 8th gonocoxite black, laterally red, 9th gonocoxite brown, punctured.

Measurements (in millimetres); of 3 and (Ƥ): Males (n=4) females (n=4). Length of head 1.25 (1.48), width 1.97 (1.95), interocular distance 1.31 (1.26), length of antennal segments I, II, III, IV and V, 0.42 (0.40), 0.69 (0.60), 0.33 (0.31), 0.77 (0.75) and 1.02 (1.05), greatest width across humeral angles of pronotum 6.04 (6.01); width of abdomen 5.22 (5.46); total length of body as measured when specimens 9.75 (10.00).

Comments. This Irano-Turanian species was described from the surroundings of Hatay, Turkey. It is rare, distributed according to the available records only in East Anatolia and the Mediterranean region of Turkey ( Puton 1896; Önder et al. 2006). It is variable in colour, especially in the triangular mark of the scutellum ( Figures 1 View FIGURE 1 . a, b, c, d). The structure of pygophore and paramere of this species is different from those of V. rusticus . Medial region of ventral rim of pygophore of V. horvathi slightly concave, apex of paramere slender and curved up, lateral edge of paramere with very small tubercle ( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 . g, i). Medial region of ventral rim of pygophore of V. rusticus Vshaped , apex of paramere shwollenly and upswept, lateral edge of paramere concave ( Figures 6 View FIGURE 6 . and 7 View FIGURE 7 .). It was captured on Nigella sp. ( Ranunculaceae ) in Turkey ( Horváth 1896; Hoberlandt 1956).
