Thyreodon affinis Cresson, 1865: 46 View in CoL .

Holotype 3 (IES # 93) in good condition. It is a large, reddish species with a pronotal crest developed as a slight swelling at the front end of the notaulus. Cresson in his original description noted the violaceous wings characteristic of the species, but the presumed holotype has yellowish wings, probably because they faded over time. This species was discussed further in a revision of the Cuban Ophioninae ( Fernández-Triana 2005).
