Comment. The distribution of Saprinus (S.) chalcites covers a vast territory and is comparable with the following species. It is found in the entire Mediterranean subregion, Africa, in the Arabian Peninsula and in Middle Asia, India, Burma and it has also been introduced into Australia ( MAZUR 2011). It is another typical saprobiont found on carrion and mammal excrements. First record from Socotra.
