Trilochana scolioides Moore, 1879 View in CoL

T. scolioides View in CoL is known from a wide range reaching from Nepal in the west to Vietnam in the east. Trilochana caseariae View in CoL was described from Guanxi ( Yang & Wang 1989). The authors did not compare this taxon to T. scolioides View in CoL ; however, the genitalia figures and description indicate that this taxon is a junior synonym of T. scolioides View in CoL . The precise hostplant is not known. Jin et al. (2008) state Crocus sativus (Saffron) View in CoL as host plant; however, this is obviously based on a mistake. Yang & Wang (1989) record ‘Hunghuamua’, a fruit or forest tree (not specified in the English translation) as host plant of T. caseariae View in CoL . Based on the species name this may refer to Casearia (Salicaceae) View in CoL .
