DISTRIBUTION: N. W. Mexico to S. E. Mexico; Cozumel Isl.
COMMENT: Listed as a subspecies of townsendii by Hall and Kelson, 1959:200; but see Handley, 1959, Proc. U.S. Nat. Mus., 110:141- 151; Hall, 1981:233. Formerly in genus Corynorhinus ; see Anderson, 1972, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 148:255.
