Treatment

Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Oman ( Linsenmaier 1994 as Chrysis (Pyria) lyncea ; Strumia 2008), United Arab Emirates ( Linsenmaier 1994 as Chrysis (Pyria) lyncea ; Howarth & Gillett 2008; Strumia 2008).

Extralimital distribution: Widespread in sub-Saharan Africa ( Linsenmaier 1994 as Chrysis (Pyria) lyncea ).

Remarks: The incorrect subsequent spelling lyncea is currently in almost universal use ( Madl & Rosa 2012) and is therefore deemed to be the correct original spelling (Article 33.3.1, ICZN 1999).
