Figs 129–131 View FIGURES 129–137 , 185 View FIGURES 184–195

Diagnosis. Ecnomina alluna closely resembles the other three species in the group in possessing the slender lateral pair of dorsal processes on tergum X and shares with E. alluna and E. bula laterally incised fused or joined inferior appendages. It is distinguished from E. anulla by the inferior appendages which in ventral view are less strongly excised laterally and the apices are straight sided, not dilated.

Description. Head, body and wings brown, abdomen paler ventrally; wings similar to E. legula ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–6 ). Forewing length about 2.9–3.1 times width: male 3.7–4.6 mm; female 3.6–4.3 mm. Forewing fork 2 relatively long, sessile, length about 1.2–1.3 times length of fork 3; fork 3 relatively long, with short footstalk, fork greater than 5 times length footstalk, footstalk length about 0.7–0.9 times length cross-vein m, r-m and m nearly contiguous at footstalk fork 3, r-m and m separated by about 0.8–1.1 times length of cross-vein m; fork 4 shorter than fork 3; fork 5 long, length about 1.9 times length of fork 4. Hindwing length about 3.2 times width, fork 2 sessile, length about 1.5–1.6 times length of fork 3.

Male Tergum X membranous, fused basally, with two pairs of dorsal processes, a robust, mesal pair and a slender pair laterally ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 129–137 ), a ventral process also present. Superior appendages robust; in lateral view, broad basally, tapered in distal half, length about 1.6 times width ( Fig. 129 View FIGURES 129–137 ); in dorsal view, length about three times width, with several spines in distal third, dilated slightly distally ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 129–137 ). Phallus down turned slightly apically ( Fig. 129 View FIGURES 129–137 ). Inferior appendages short, broad basally; in ventral view, fused or joined, length about 0.7 times width, rounded baso-laterally, narrowed about middle, excised disto-laterally, truncate distally ( Fig. 130 View FIGURES 129–137 ); in lateral view, robust basally, upturned slightly and slender distally ( Fig. 129 View FIGURES 129–137 ).

Female. Genitalia with a single short, robust mesal process on sternite VIII; segment IX relatively long, tapered slightly distally, segment X relatively short and segments IX and X relatively slender ( Fig. 185 View FIGURES 184–195 ).

Holotype male: New South Wales, ‘ Mooraback’ , Werrikimbe NP (about 31°15'S, 152°11'E), 980 m, 6 Dec 1986, G. Theischinger ( NMV, T-19760). GoogleMaps

Paratypes: New South Wales. 8 males (specimen CT-453 figured) , 9 females (specimen CT-505 figured), collected with holotype ( NMV) GoogleMaps .

Other material examined: New South Wales. 2 males, 3 females, Rosebank , 11 Jan 1958, collector? ( ANIC) .

Etymology. Alluna - eastern Australian Aboriginal word for two together (fused inferior appendages).
