Debilos orthum Scherrer , sp. nov.

( Figs 8, 21, 27, 59, 76, 89, 96, 134)

Description. Female. Fore wing 7.2 mm. Head ( Fig. 76): Antenna with 27–28 flagellomeres. Clypeus punctate, moderately convex, most prominent dorsally, CWH 1.90; MWC 0.69, MLW 1.90, MWW 0.40; malar space moderately long, MSM 1.00; supra-antennal area with almost indistinct, median, longitudinal carina; minimum distance from eye margin to occipital carina laterally approximately same width of mandible base.

Mesosoma ( Fig. 96). Pronotum lateral portion next to collar inconspicuously strigate-rugose, next to mesopleuron inconspicuously corrugated, epomia inconspicuous; notaulus inconspicuously impressed, uniformly sculptured with mesoscutum, not reaching middle of mesoscutum; mesopleuron dorsal half medially faintly strigulate-rugulose, ventral half without distinct ridges or rugae, epicnemial carina restricted to ventral 0.7 of mesopleuron, posteriorly inconspicuously, densely corrugated; mesopleural groove markedly, sparsely corrugated; sternaulus entirely moderately corrugated; postpectal carina medially distinctly bent; metapleuron, subapical fovea shallow, subcircular; pleural carina stout; propodeum anterior area moderately long, PLL 1.03, anterior transverse carina distinct, complete, slightly, uniformly curved, posterior area strigulate-rugulose, with faint ridges medially moderately arched backwards ( Fig. 8), spiracle distinctly elliptic, SWL 2.29, propodeal apophyses of regular height, thorn-shaped, AHD 2.06. Legs ( Fig. 59): Hind t4 posterior lobe about 0.31 × as long as anterior lobe. Wings ( Fig. 27): Fore wing vein (Rs+M)b perfectly straight, limit with crossvein 1m-cu distinct, ramellus absent; vein Rs&1M uniformly slightly curved; crossvein 1cu-a straight, arising distinctly apicad vein Rs&1M, by about 0.1– 0.2 × 1cu-a length, angle with vein M+Cu about 90 degrees; vein 2Cua moderately shorter than crossvein 2cu-a, FWC 0.67; areolet small, APH 0.71; vein 2Ma shorter to longer than vein 2Mb; vein 2Mb tubular; crossvein 2m-cu with bulla short, about 0.2 × as long as vein length or shorter; vein 2Rsb slightly sinuous, almost straight. Hind wing vein 2-1A long, reaching about 0.8 × the distance to wing margin, HWC 1.94.

Metasoma ( Fig. 96). T1 petiole basal half smooth towards base, apical half, postpetiole coriarious-punctulate, except pospetiole apical parts centrally smooth, sparsely punctulate, spiracle at about basal 0.6, prominent, T1LW 3.07, T1WW 2.64, T1GL 0.29; T2 moderately short, apically robust, T2T1L 0.68, thyridium distinctly wider than long, T2LW 0.84, T2WW 2.20. Ovipositor approximately straight, OST 0.55, dorsal valve with nodus absent, notch absent; ventral valve tip without distinct serrations ( Fig. 21).

Color. Head black, mesosoma, legs and metasoma black. Head: Scape apex ventrally lightest; flagellomeres 5– 10 dorsally white; mouth parts whitish (218, 216, 195), except mandible mostly and apex blackish. Mesosoma: Collar medially, rather with sublateral mark, propleuron dorsal margin and ventro-lateral corner, and mesepimeron dorsal 0.2 whitish to white; transverse carinae anteriorly and posteriorly to axillary trough of metanotum lightest; propodeal apophyses white. Legs: Fore coxa, mid coxa apical half, hind coxa apical margin, fore and mid trochanters, hind trochanter basal margin, hind tibia basal 0.2 and hind t1 apical half, t2–4 entirely white ( Fig. 59), except dorsal black mark taking fore coxa basal 0.5, fore trochanter dorsal portion centrally and mid trochanter dorsally almost entirely blackish; hind trochanter apical margin dorsally whitish; femora basal 0.1 slightly lightest; fore femur ventrally whitish towards apex; fore and mid tibiae anteriorly and posteriorly, and tarsi, rather fore t1 and fore and mid t2–4, pale yellow (241, 224, 144) to whitish; tarsomeres 5 brownish (091, 065, 051). Wings: Hyaline. Metasoma: Slightly lightest towards apex; T1–5 apical margin distinctly lightest; T6–8 apical margin dorsally white; sternites medially white; ovipositor sheath dark brown (092, 054, 024), except basal 0.75 ventrally whitish; ovipositor brown (159, 113, 062).

Male. Unknown.

Variability. Holotype with median portion of postpectal carina short and very faint. Color: flagellomere 4 apical parts sometimes white; some specimens, including holotype, with collar entirely blackish, except medially slightly whitish; mesopleuron dorsally and scutellum apically sometimes with brownish tint; extension and brightness of lightest marks on legs variable.

Comments. Included in the D. orthum species group (see item Species Delimitation), formed by D. orthum and D. gnampthum . Debilos orthum differs from D. gnampthum by having the pedicel and flagellomere 1 entirely black (vs. pedicel with a dorsal white mark and flagellomere 1 dorsally white), entirely propodeum anterior area moderately long, PLL 1.03 (vs. short, PLL 0.76), and anterior transverse carina slightly, uniformly curved (vs. medially distinctly arched forwards).

Etymology. From the Greek word orthon, meaning “straight,” in reference to the anterior transverse carina of propodeum uniformly curved, almost straight at median portion in this species.

Distribution. Brazil. Currently known only at Pará: Floresta Nacional de Caxiuanã, Melgaço (02°04’54”S 51°51’05”W) ( Fig. 134).
