Type species: Tesseropora rosea ( Krauss, 1848) by original designation.

Diagnosis (after Carriol 2005): Shell of four wall plates, including paired latera, carina, and rostral plate; when adult, parietes with unique row of primary longitudinal tubes; radii narrow, without tubes; basis commonly membranous.
