Distribution in Bulgaria: Petrich [1]; Vratsa [2].

Remarks: Myrsidea balati Machacek, 1977 is known as a specific parasite of Passer montanus (L.) ( Price et al. 2003). Since the relevant material examined by Touleshkov (1962) is not available in his collection,

the species affiliation of the lice from P. montanus identified as Myrsidea quadrifasciata (Piaget, 1880) cannot be confirmed.
