Diagnosis. Cercal plate produced into a long and narrow robust process which reaches or surpasses apices of surstyli; either with a pair of median setae (e.g., B. latifrons , B. turcica ) or bare. Surstylus long and slender in caudal view.

Species included in this group from China are B. cercocerata ( Deng, 1985) , B. latifrons ( Zetterstedt, 1845) , and B. tridigitata Fan & Chen in Fan et al., 1984a.
