Lectotype: male (NMW). Type locality: Chile, Chiloé Province, Olmué [according to Lindner, 1943: 96, but probably an error; see comments]. Distr.: Metropolitana Region: Santiago Province (Quebrada de la Plata, in Rinconada de Maipú); Biobío Region: Concepción Province (Concepción); Araucanía Region: Cautín Province (Gal- varino); Los Ríos Region: Valdivia Province (Puerto Fui, 8 mi E of Río Bueno, San José de la Mariquina); Los Lagos Region: Osorno Province (30 km E of Purranque, 10 km E of Puyehue), Chiloé Province (Dalcahue); Aysén Region: Aysén Province (Puerto Aysén). Argentina: Neuquén Province (without precise locality) (see James, 1975a: 22; Woodley, 1995: 120).

Comments. In the original description of this species, Lindner (1943: 96) had three males and one female from Chiloé Province, Olmué, and one female from Concepción Province, subsequently followed by James (1975a). Woodley (1995: 120) ’s lectotype designation established Chiloé Province, Olmué as the type locality. But it is clear that this is an error in the locality information because Olmué is a city in the region of Valparaíso (Marga Marga Province), over 1,000 km away, up in the north, from the Chiloé Province. It is probable that the type locality is somewhere in the Chiloé Province, as Lindner placed the species in that locality on his map.
