The Zoosphaerium libidinosum View in CoL species-group
Members of this species-group possess posterior telopods of a very general shape, similar to those belonging to other genera, like Sphaeromimus , Sphaerotherium or Arthrosphaera . The only members of Zoosphaerium with a well-rounded operculum of the vulva belong to this species-group. In all other members of the genus the operculum is more or less deeply notched ( Jeekel 1974). Members of this species-group can be found all over the island, in almost every natural ecosystem present on Madagascar (Fig. 5). They were also the most successful ones colonizing the arid spiny forest vegetation in the Southern part of Madagascar. Of this species-group, four species were described before 1950, while 10 species were named after 2005, nine of them in this paper.
