Diagnosis. Libythea myrrha sanguinalis is similar to L. m. rama by sharing a falcate forewing apex, but it can be distinguished from the latter by having an orange forewing apical band between Rs 1 and M 1, which is often fused with band between M 1 and M 3.

Distribution. Central and South Asia: Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Remarks. This taxon has a wide distribution spanning from Northwest India to Thailand. Specimens from the western part of its distribution have wide orange bands that are especially pronounced in the female. In the eastern portion of its distribution, the width of the orange bands is narrower, and many individuals have a small white mark at the forewing apex.
