Cylindera (Ifasina) decolorata ( Horn, 1907)

New record for Hong Kong. As this species was originally described as a race of Cylindera (Ifasina) psilica ( Bates 1866) , it may well be that records of that species should be referred to as this. Specimens determined by Jürgen Wiesner. Material: 1 ex. Hong Kong Tai Po Kau, 18.v.10 (abundant on pathways); 4 exx. Hong Kong, Sha Lo Tung, 28-30.v.15, (Leg. R.Ho Lee & Y.Luo); Sight record Hong Kong Tai Po Kau, 9.viii.08. Biology: Imago found May to August. This species is locally common in Tai Po Kau Nature reserve where it is associated with narrow dirt and stone paths with wide earth edges, through wooded areas of both indigenous and exotic trees, where when disturbed hides under leaves of shrubs up to 1 metre off the ground. This species has also been found in Sha Lo Tung. Fully winged and readily flies.

Cylindera (Ifasina) fallaciosa (Horn, 1897)

New record for Hong Kong. Specimens determined by Jürgen Wiesner. Material: 2 exx. Hong Kong, Lam Tsuen valley, Tai Om Shan, 16.v.15, at least 10 others seen; 1 ex. Hong Kong, Lam Tsuen valley, Tai Om Shan, 28.v.13; 2 exx. Hong Kong, Wu Kau Tang, 8.vi.13; Sight record Hong Kong, Ng Tung Chai 13.iv.98; sight record Hong Kong, Lam Tsuen valley, Tai Om Shan, 24.v.14; sight record Hong Kong, Lam Tsuen valley, Tai Om Shan, 1.vi.14; 2 exx. Hong Kong, Ng Tung Chai 22.vi.09. Biology: Imago found May to June. Found in a variety of wooded areas, it is fully winged.

Cylindera (Ifasina) kaleea cathaica ( Bates, 1874)

Bates described this subspecies from Hong Kong under the name Cicindela cathaica ( Bates 1874) , and is listed under that name for Hong Kong by Horn (1930), Demoor (1886) and Mandl (1955). Puchkov & Matalin (2003), Wiesner (1992) and Shook & Wiesner (2006) list both subspecies for Hong Kong. Material: 1 ex. Hong Kong, Lam Tsuen valley, Tai Om Shan, 18.v.13; 1 ex. W.T.L., 25.viii.12. Biology: Imago found May to August. Attracted to light, it is fully winged. Cylindera (Ifasina) kaleea kaleea ( Bates, 1866)

Wiesner (1992), Hua (2002), Puchkov & Matalin (2003), Wiesner (2004), Sawada & Wiesner (2004), Sawada & Wiesner (2006a), Shook & Wiesner (2006) and Wiesner (2010) list this subspecies for Hong Kong. Confirmation of both subspecies occurrence in Hong Kong would be very interesting.

Cylindera (Ifasina) psilica psilica ( Bates, 1866)

Listed by Schilder (1911), Hua (2002), Wiesner (1992), (2002), Puchkov & Matalin (2003) and Shook & Wiesner (2006) as occurring in Hong Kong, however all specimens and photographs I have seen labelled as this species are incorrectly identified and refer to Cylindera decolorata ( Horn 1907) .

Cylindera (Ifasina) viduata ( Fabricius, 1801)

Chaudoir described Cicindela chlorochila Chaudoir, 1853 , a junior synonym of this species from a specimen sent to him by M. Dohrn and originating in Hong Kong, and is listed under that name as occurring in Hong Kong by Mroczkowski (1957). Schilder (1911), Dover & Ribeiro (1923), Horn (1930) and Mandl (1981) noted Cicindela triguttata Herbst, 1806 as occurring in Hong Kong, even though Herbst had given the type locality as North America. Bousquet (2012) pointed out that Acciavatti and Pearson (1989) had examined the syntypes and concluded it was a junior synonym of Cylindera viduata (Fabricius) , and that the type locality originally reported was in error. Schilder (1911) also listed Cicindela triguttata chlorochila Chaudoir, 1853 , as occurring on Hong Kong. This species is listed as occurring in Hong Kong by Acciavatti & Pearson (1989), Wiesner (1992), Hua (2002) Puchkov & Matalin (2003), Wiesner (2004), Sawada & Wiesner (2004), Wiesner (2007), Wiesner (2008), Wiesner (2013b), Wiesner (2013c) and Wiesner (2014). This small species is quite common on barren hillsides and has been seen feeding at bright lights at night. This species is fully winged and readily flies. Can be attracted to light traps.
