Redtenbacher (1867) first recorded this species for Hong Kong, though he incorrectly cited the author as Schoenherr, Andrewes (1921a) corrected this error. Also listed for Hong Kong by Chaudoir (1876c), Jedlièka (1963), Kirschenhofer (1996), Hua (2002), Yu & Tang (2002), Bousquet (2003i) and Jian & Tian (2009).
