Diagnosis. The male of this species can be easily recognised by the densely haired eyes.

D. vicana is widely distributed in Armenia and was recorded at altitudes from 1870 to 2270 m in the provinces of Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Tavush and Vayots Dzor by Pont (2018: 15) .
Remarks. This is a common and widespread species in lowland and submontane Europe and is found as far east as the Magadan Province of the Russian Far East. Adult females are common sweat-flies.
