Material examined. MBC-A023317; MBC-A027743; MBC-A077808; MBC-A077806; MBC-A077811; MBC- A077812; MBC-A077809; MBC-A077807; MBC-A077810.

Identification. Test moderately sized, creamish in color. Spines white, banded brown and greenish, equatorial spines long, facing downwards, creating a fringe appearance; eccentric anal opening.

Global maximum size. Maximum test diameter 50 mm.

Global distribution. East coast of South Africa, East African coast and Seychelles at 10–70 ( Schultz 2010).

Remarks. Schultz (2010) reports on a species having more reddish spines; there are, however, no traces of red in the Iziko Museum specimens, which have alternating green and brown bands.
