Genus Euryopis Menge, 1868 View in CoL View at ENA
Type species: Micryphantes flavomaculatus C. L. Koch, 1836 (= Euryopis flavomaculata View in CoL )
Diagnosis. Euryopis differs from Dipoena , Lasaeola and Phycosoma by the absence of carapace spherical or rounded and by the absence of distinct cervical grooves. Euryopis presents carapace oval ( Figs 1A View FIGURE 1 , 2A View FIGURE 2 , 3A View FIGURE 3 , 4A View FIGURE 4 ), not modified. Differs from Guaraniella by the cymbium without deep apical notch. Differs from Audifia by the abdomen without a sclerotized ring around the spinnerets and pedicel and differs from Audifia by the not elongate carapace. Euryopis has an oval ( Figs 1A View FIGURE 1 , 2A View FIGURE 2 , 4A View FIGURE 4 , 5A View FIGURE 5 ) or subtriangular abdomen (see Levi 1963, Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ), dorsoventrally flat ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ), sometimes project over the carapace; blackish brown to black ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ), sometimes with silver dots and males with sclerotized scutum on the dorsum ( Figs 7A, D View FIGURE 7 ). The females of Euryopis have the epigynum with an oval depression ( Fig. 9C View FIGURE 9 ); and males have a distal cymbial projection ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8 ), however there are some species lacking such projection ( Fig. 8D View FIGURE 8 ) or having it little pronounced ( Figs 8B, C View FIGURE 8 ).
