Stegana (Steganina) xanthosticta sp. nov.

Diagnosis

Hypandrium with two to three setulae submedially and a few pubescence on flaps ( Figure 66 ); tenth sternite narrowed apically, slightly broadened submedially, and separated basally ( Figure 65 ).

Description

Male terminalia: epandrium slightly protruded ventrally ( Figure 63 ). Surstylus with seven prensisetae submedially ( Figure 64 ). Paramere with ca. five sensilla ( Figures 66, 67 ). Dorsal projection of gonopods rod-like, strongly dorsad protruded in lateral view ( Figure 69 ). Aedeagus without serrated, minute processes ( Figure 69 ).

Measurements. BL = 2.56 mm in holotype; ThL = 1.46 mm; WL = 2.89 mm; WW = 1.32 mm.

Etymology

A combination of the Latin words: xanthos and stictus, referring to the scutellum yellow at tip.

The body colour pattern is well diversified in this group, as depicted in detail in Table 1. Some body parts show discrete variations of colouration among species, thus

enabling one to distinguish them from one another based on a combination of colourations on different parts.
