The following specimens of Gnathodracon orbiculina from the collection of the Zoological Museum, University of Copenhagen ( ZMUC) were examined. Tanzania: Pwani Reg., Rufiji Distr., Namakutwa Forest Res. , 4♂, 1♀, 8– 27.viii.1992 , Frontier leg., genitalia L. Aarvik 98011 (♂); Pwani Reg., Bagamoyo Distr., Zaraninge , 1♀, 2.viii.1991 , Frontier leg., genitalia slide L. Aarvik 98012; Tanga Reg., Muheza Distr., Tongwe Forest Res ., 1♂, 1♀, 3–4.ii.1992; Tanga Reg., Muheza Distr. , Kwamgumi Forest Res. , 2♂, 3♀, 24–25.vii.1995, S.H. McKamey et al. leg.

The following specimens of Gnathodracon orbiculina from the collection of the Natural History Museum, University of Oslo ( NHMO) were examined. Tanzania: Morogoro Reg., Kilombero Distr., Udzungwa Mts. Nat. Park, Mang’ula , 550 m, 1♂, 4♀, 20–21.xi.2005, L. Aarvik, M. Fibiger, A. Kingston leg. ; Mpanda Distr. , 55 km S Uvinza on Mpanda Road, 1600 m, 1♂, 9.xi.1990, A. Bjørnstad leg.

The following specimens of Gnathodracon orbiculina from the collection of David Agassiz, Weston-super-Mare, UK: Tanzania, Iringa, Udzungwa Mts. 7˚50’45”S 36˚33’E, 1200ft., 3♂, 12.i.2001 ; Tanzania, Uluguru Mts. , Kimboza For. 7˚1’ S 37˚ 48’18”E, 1200ft., 1♀, 11.v.2001, D.J.L. Agassiz.

These are the first records of G. orbiculina from Tanzania. John Brown, Washington, informed about the presence of G. orbiculina in Nigeria based on a specimen in National Museum of Natural History , Washington ( USNM): Nigeria: Oyo State, Int. Inst. Tropical Agr., 7.5008°N, 3.9065°E, 240 m, 1♂, [dissected], 14 July 2006, G.M. Miller & T.M. Kuklenski. The records indicate a wide distribution across tropical Africa from Nigeria in the west to the coast of the Indian Ocean in Tanzania in the east.
