Remarks: Differs from keratosqueleton by the slenderer body and relatively longer body segments and slightly longer median segment of both sexes (> 2x length of metanotum in ♂♂); large triangular dorsal lobe of the basitarsi of ♀♀, as well as the unarmed head and anal segment of ♂♂ which is shorter and not dilated towards the posterior. Bacteria integra Redtenbacher, 1908 has erroneously been synonymised with P. keratosqueleton ( Olivier, 1792) by Zompro (1998: 6). Langlois & Bellanger (2012: 103) recorded Ph. muticus from Tobago as “ Paraphanocles keratosqueleton ”.
Distribution: Trinidad: Trinidad [MNHN, MNHU, NHMW]; Trinidad, Anima Valley, Simla, W Beebe Tropical Research Station [FSCA]; Trinidad, Fyzabad [ANSP]; Trinidad, Caparo [ANSP]; Trinidad, Mount Tunapuna, St. Benedict [ANSP]. Tobago: Tobago, trace à 3, 2 km á l’ouest de Castara, route de Plymouth [MNHN, coll. ASPER]; Tobago, trace au sud du barrage de Hillsborough, prés de Green Hill [MNHN, coll.
