Material studied. HOLOTYPE, male ( CEHI): Zaire Prov. Kivu / Mt. Kahuzi 2000m / Bambusgesiebe / II 1986 E.Heiss . PARATYPES (4 exx.): male, 2 females ( CEHI), female ( CNC): same locality as holotype .

Diagnosis. This species is similar to A. congoensis from Rwanda, from which it is distinguished by usually larger size, more elongate abdomen, angulate anterolateral angles of paranota, shorter genae contiguous at apex and different ratios of antennal segments.

Description. Surface glabrous, colouration reddish brown with distinct lighter yellowish markings on posterior margins of deltg III-VI and lateral parts of mtg IV–VI. Head slightly wider than long (18/17); genae longer than clypeus reaching about 3/4 of antennal segment I, apex contiguous; antennae 1.76 times as long as width of head, segments I/II/III/IV = 8/5/10 /7; postocular lobes rounded, beset with setigerous tubercles. Thorax with pronotum 2.7 times as wide as long (27/10), paranota roundly converging anteriorly, angularly produced anterolaterally. Scutellum about 2.1 times as wide as long (22/10.5). Mtg I raised medially to level of scutellum, with a median depression which is flanked on mtg II by few small granules. Abdomen with tergal plate only slightly elevated at middle, distinctly separated from mtg III by a transverse suture. Female generally as male but of larger size, median depression of mtg I+II very reduced on mtg II. Measurements. Holotype male: length 4.1 mm; length of antennae 1.5 mm; width of abdomen 1.95 mm. Female: length 4.4 mm; head w/l 18.5/17; antennae 1.76 times as long as width of head, segments I/II/III/IV = 8/5/10 /7; pronotum w/l 28/9; scutellum w/l 23/11; width of abdomen 2.25 mm.

Etymology. The species epithet refers to Mt. Kahuzi, west of Lake Kivu in the South Kivu province of DRC, where it was discovered and collected.

Distribution. This species is known from DRC: the bamboo belt of Mt. Kahuzi.
