Material examined. Holotype, ♀, South Korea: Gyeongsangbuk-do, Cheongdo-gun, Unmun-myeon, Haksodaepokpo (U5), 35°38'15"N, 128°59'51"E, 23.III–12.V.2013 (Malaise trap), J.W. Lee [YNU]. Paratypes: South Korea: 2♂, Gangwon-do, Taebaek-si, dangol, 37°07'06"N, 128°56'52"E, 6.V.1999, J.W. Lee [YNU].

Description. Female. Body length 12.0 mm; fore wing length 9.0 mm. Head densely punctate, with golden yellow setae, transverse, much wider than long (46: 25), slightly broader than mesosoma (46: 44) ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); ratios POL/LOL/ OOL=14:7:20; ocelli large, their maximum diameter more than LOL ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); eyes oval, inner margins almost parallel, eye much narrower than high (43: 80); face below antennal sockets with tubercle ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); antenna without tyloids, much shorter than body (10: 19) ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 7 ); antennomeres 1–15 in following proportions (length: width): 18:28; 10:17; 2:10; 50:15; 48:17; 43:17; 40:17; 38:17; 38:18; 35:18; 30:17; 28:17; 27:17; 27:17; 38:16.

Mesosoma much longer than wide (82: 44) ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); pronotum at posterior most points from dorsal view 4.5 × as wide as long (medially), punctate, with distinct transverse carina extending lateral part ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); pronotum laterally distinctly longitudinally striate except upper punctate part; notauli deep, crenulate and percurrent ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); parapsidal furrows distinct, around half as long as mesoscutum length; prescutellar fovea large and deep, as long as mesoscutellum, smooth at bottom; mesoscutellum densely punctate and convex; mesopostscutellum strongly costate, medially punctate; upper part of mesopleuron densely punctate, with long setae except posterior smooth half; lower part of mesopleuron rugoso-punctate, with long setae; propodeum 0.67 × as long as wide, much longer than metanotum along midline (34: 9) ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ).

Wing. Fore wing 3.9 × as long as its maximum width, nervulus (1cu-a) slightly postfurcal, 2Cu 2.6 × as long as wide along vein 1cu-a and 2.0 × as long as wide along vein 1cu-b, radial (marginal) cell 5.2 × as long as maximum width ( Figs 11, 15 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); pterostigma 3.3 × as long as wide ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ). Hind wing 4.3 × as long as its maximum width, with three hamuli.

Metasoma with dense punctures and golden yellow setae except petiole and terga 2; petiole 3.9 × as long as wide ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ); ratios of length of metasomal terga 1–8 72:75:30:35:30:28:30:32 ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ).

Color. Body black except metasomal terga partly reddish brown; antenna, palps and legs reddish brown except pedicel, coxae and trochanters, upper part of hind femur black.

Male. Body length 14.0– 14.2 mm; fore wing length 11.3–11.7 mm. Similar to female, but antennomere 4 slightly broadened and concave basally, antennomeres 1–15 in following proportions (length: width): 22:26; 10:18; 4:12; 50:19; 55:18; 50:18; 50:18; 44:18; 41:18; 38:18; 36:18; 36:18; 35:17; 35:16; 42:16; cell 2Cu of fore wing 2.6 × as long as wide along vein 1cu-a and 2.0× as long as wide along vein 1cu-b; metasomal petiole 4.1 × as long as wide.

Host. Unknown. There are three species of Megaxyela Ashmead , which are distributed in the South Korea: M. parki Shinohara, 1992 , M. gigantea Mocsáry, 1909 and undescribed species (Blank et al. in litt.), which may be the potential hosts of Proctorenyxa koreana sp. nov.

Distribution. South Korea (Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gangwon-do). Etymology. The species is named after the type locality.
